the “Brakes for Breasts” program kicks off and runs through the entire
time, clients of participating repair shops in the Brakes For Breast program receive FREE brake pads or shoes.
They pay only
for the labor and any other ancillary parts that are necessary to complete the job.
All participating repair shops then donate 10% of the brake job cost to the Cleveland
Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund. 100% of our proceeds go directly to research. Dr. Vincent
Tuohy has created a vaccine that has proven effective in laboratory animals, and has great promise for
eliminating breast cancer from our world!
The Story Behind “Brakes for Breasts”
In 2011, our very own Laura Frank and fellow shop owner Leigh Anne
Best began the “Brakes for Breasts” fundraiser with 5 local auto shops in Ohio.
Since 2011, Brakes for Breasts has raised $606,709.99 and 100% of those proceeds went to
research for the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund. in 2017 alone, 114 independent repair shops
across 34 states raised $114,389.20.
Our goal this year is to have 200 shops participating. After 14 long years we are very close to bedside
trials, hopefully by the end of 2018.
Brakes for Breasts is run solely by volunteers supported by the independent repair community across the
Country. It is a true grass roots effort, with every penny being donated to research.
P.S. Please pass this along to all of your friends!
We need everyone’s support.
